How many of you recall taking art classes growing up? Like the majority of of us, most likely recall having many of them. Believe it or not, while I was a student in elementary school, many of these classes- like they absolutely must be- were required. I recall that each and every day we'd switch between attending art, music, and physical education classes. Several of you probably remember needing to learn to play the recorder in elementary school music lessons in third, 4th, or 5th grade. I cannot speak for everyone, but I personally loved these kinds of classes and went on to take them as electives in junior high as well as high school as well. We had been lucky enough to get these classes as choices at school growing up, but unfortunately, youngsters today are not as advantaged as we used to be. During the the past several years, factors which include serious budget cutbacks are pushing public schools to downsize teaching jobs, and for that reason, downsizing classes.

There are plenty of art mediums for kids of every age group to discover of course, if we do not have art classes in academic institutions, how else will these children be exposed to these art forms?
